Think it would work if the regs are written tight enough so that a bank's ability to stay in the banking business is contingent on complying with mortgage distribution over all economic classes. OTOH, we can't go back to the "no doc" loan mentality. Job and income would have to be verified.

I think every president is sat down upon entering office, and given some sort of presentation, perhaps featuring Kennedy getting his brains blown out followed by pictures of his family, and then told that wealthy assholes run the country, and he'd better not rock the boat.

Somewhat similar to the meeting Johnson had in the move "JFK".
