Doesn't matter if she's paying too much for chicken. You are missing the point. If the same chicken she bought a few days ago is the same brand, quality, and type as she bought 4 years ago, but the price doubled, then she has experienced massive inflation. That's the point. Whether or not she buys expensive chicken has nothing to do with the rate of inflation of that chicken.

RW posted that chicken prices increased by 12% since last year. That doesn't sound to me like 2% or less inflation that the BLS claims.
