When caught saying something ignorant, the person will claim that he "has a life" and has more important stuff to do.

My exact experience every time I nail a leftwinger out in the real world.

1--They say they know all about the subject

2--I nail them with an avalanche of facts

3--They say "I have more important things to do than taking time to get so much information"

4--They get hysterical and start screaming

5--They FLEE the area

6--If they ever see me in the future from a block away they turn and run the other direction

Sometimes it's just a matter of not being able to accept the facts. The claim of ignorance is preferred over proof of being wrong.
