Ted, that was my point. I compare shop for prices as well as value. I have paid higher prices for things but got my money's worth by way of super quality. Yup. But I have not said that the high price I paid was because of inflation. I am sure we all get MM's point in that prices have gone up at the same store for the same product. The inflation is tied to gas prices. The oil countries are calling the shots for now. I am glad to see that Obama is going about this issue the right way: high mileage cars, electric cars, battery technology research etc. US not doing bad when it comes to oil. We keep finding more and more new reserves.
