Technology is a huge game changer especially with the younger generation. Some middlemen in the transaction you can't eliminate such as title agent, banker and a handyman. Realtors days are already numbered on the rental side and you can bet the legal jargon gets simplified via the net leading to less need for realtors and attorneys on the sell side.. I find if both sides are competent, fair and honest you just don't need these people hoarding your transaction. Now if you have an asshole on the other side of the transaction it will be a big problem working out some resolution for you even if you are represented by both an agent and lawyer. Zillow to me is an incredible tool for buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants..
