Annual reports are usually printed about two months after the end of the fiscal year. (It takes a while to figure out all the numbers, get it typeset and printed).

It's strange that Columbia/HCA's annual report was prepared so late, that it was able to refer to something that happened 3 1/2 months after the end of the fiscal year.

Annual reports (and 10-Ks and 10-Qs) can certainly mention things that happened after the reporting period, but they rarely mention things that happen after the reports are printed. (I think the Psychic Network annual reports are an exception to this.)
