There is no such thing as "the American way". Two Presidents from modern times, from different political parties have signaled to us that the principle of yesteryears that was uniquely American no longer holds true Well I disagree. A nation's history shapes its beliefs and culture and our conquest of this wilderness, our fighting off the King who sought to rule us, and our subjection of the indians, our importation of slaves, our war over slavery and states rights, and our struggles between unions and capitalist bosses--all this and much more has made us the unique country that we are--I don't give a flip what two Presidents think about it.
