USCS International Announces Plan With Intuit to Offer Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment Through Quicken 98 Personal Finance Software Program

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--USCS International Inc. (NASDAQ:USCS) today announced that its subsidiary, International Billing Services (IBS), a leading provider of complete statement processing solutions for the communications and other industries, and Intuit Inc., a leader in personal finance software, have signed a letter of intent to provide electronic bill presentment in Quicken(R) 98 for Windows.

Consumers will be able to view and pay electronic bills that have been produced by IBS through Quicken 98, the newest version of Intuit's popular personal finance software program.

The proposed alliance broadens the scope of bill presentment and payment options for billers (companies who generate and send high volumes of statements to customers) and consumers. IBS will utilize internally developed software to convert its billing customers' statement data into complete, full-color electronic statements.

Using Quicken 98, consumers will be able to easily and conveniently review and pay these bills with a few clicks of a mouse through the use of Intuit's new service, Online Billing through Quicken 98, which is based on an open architecture electronic bill presentment server solution featuring the Open Financial Exchange(TM) data communications protocol.

IBS produces more than 70 million billing statements every month which are sent to U.S. consumers who use cable television, landline and wireless telephony, utilities and other services. Its large customer base and its reputation for quality and customer service were key reasons for Intuit's decision to team with IBS in this innovative program.

"With our new Online Billing service, Quicken 98 users will be able to take advantage of the many benefits that electronic bill presentment and payment provides. By teaming with IBS, a leader in bill publishing, we can offer our users more options in the bills they view online," said Eric Dunn, Senior Vice President and CTO of Intuit.

"In today's competitive business climate, companies who can provide their customers with a variety of statement presentment and payment options have a distinct advantage," said Randy Lintecum, president of IBS. "Our plan to work with Intuit to offer electronic statement presentment and payment through its popular Quicken program is another, very exciting step toward our goal of providing complete statement processing services."

Intuit Inc., a financial software and Web-based services company, develops and markets Quicken, the leading personal finance software; TurboTax, the best-selling tax preparation software; and QuickBooks, the most popular small business accounting software. Intuit's Quicken.com Web site offers a complete set of personal financial news, information and tools, including the leading mutual fund and insurance sites.
