Jan and I rented a BMW motorcycle on our 25th anniversary.We toured the Dolomites and Tuscany. This next downturn could be protracted if you fall in love with caprese and red wine like we did. We did not want to return.LOL Sounds like a great plan - Enjoy!! Bob

we're going to travel for a week through the Alps in Switzerland and end up in Venice Double check the roads and railroads for your trip before you leave so you don't get any last minute surprises. We just did the reverse trip from Venice to Munich (no cruise), going by train through the Alps from Verona. Had to make a detour by bus from Brunero to Innsbruck due to mud slides, and lost a trip to Salzburg due to flooded roads and railroads. Deutsche Bahn was pretty pitiful with updates and information. Still had a great time, with more time to eat and drink in Munich. I hope things dry up before your trip, and do enjoy yourself. (I'll get out of the market on the day that you leave for the impending crash)
