Isn't Heritage Foundation now headed by the Tea Party darling senator who left the senate voluntarily to head that organization? The Heritage Foundation is headed by the former Republican Senator from South Carolina jim DeMint. I am unclear how "tea partyish" he was, but he was right wing. That is not to say their research couldn't be valuable in help answering the welfare question. One of their suggestions was not to end benefits to welfare recipients just because they marry because marriage is the one factor most likely to life children out of poverty (under our system women on welfare either lose or get less benefits if they marry). What we ought to do is take suggestions that work from either the right or the left and put them to use.
