Two problems with that: 1) I don't have $2M in equity which is what my insurance cap is. I don't even want to lose $100K. I'm trying to protect against catastrophe, not the expected expenses. 2) At the expected end (low end) which I'm going to pay out of pocket due to my high deductible, ANY insurance card functions as a club discount card, which gives me often >50% discount from the "list" price of services. Without the club card, the cash price is through the nose. This is a crime of the current system IMHO, but it is what it is...
