Seriously, if I owned shares, I'd sure be nervous, but this close to year end I'd be tempted to try to defer my gains until next tax year. I've seen it happen in many stocks before. On one particular IPO a couple years ago, the broker who sold it to me thought I was crazy selling on Dec. 31 (I had losses that would offset), but the first day of the next year it was down sharply. Dec. 31 was the high and it fell by about 2/3 over the next few months.

Sure, it might not happen here. There's no sure thing in this market. But it looks like a good bet to me.

Alex,

I'll bet most significant insider selling will come when AMZN trades some stock for cash. Secondary offerings often provide a smoke screen for insider selling.

One needs patience to short this pig!

In fact, I'm half expecting a pop on small volume again at the end of today.
