Energy Watch: Oil under Seasonal Pressure
But Watch Libya. Coal & Gas Also Weak
12 August 2013 ¦ 20 pages ir.citi.com

A read-through from the state of the global energy complex to the state of the
global economy is a sobering one. Supply strength only goes some of the way to
explaining the weakness in oil, coal and gas markets; weak demand is also a key
driver. The oil market is weak, with few signs of strength in crude or products.

US Natural Gas Reservoir
Northeast basis diffs: how wide is too wide?
J. Stuart, 09 December 2013 doc.research-and-analytics.csfb.com

Northeast natural gas markets first began to crumble last summer, and forward markets have begun to show that they will deflate further to a discount of much as 80-90 cents per million Btu (MMbtu) to Henry Hub NYMEX benchmark. We think that Northeast discounts will need to widen out still more, to more than $1, and for a few years yet, so as to open up access to the future demand growth hubs in the south.
