As a counterforce to technology reducing admin costs it is also a factor, IMHO, in driving up medical costs as we discover new and technically dependent ways to treat people. this especially true in the emerging field of drugs targeting pathologies either based on their DNA make up or acting in response to chemical proteins within the pathogenic cell. So it all might just be a wash if we're that lucky.

Eg. New targeted drug treatment for lung cancer costs 10,000 a shot. The new drug for prostate cancer, Provenge, bills out at 100,000 for a six week treatment (although insurers get discounts).
