My only stats are from sitting in them a few times with my parents. Rural/small town, and an area with relatively high unemployment. The only reason I know what was happening was the Doc was quite upset at the lady and told her off in front of the everyone. So what was going on was made quite clear. But more to the point I have a relative who fits the mold and does so routinely, and has for several decades. Also gets non-essential surgeries to gain access to pain medication. She has likely consumed several $100K of tax payer funded medical care. All on SS disability, and further the stupid state provides her with 20 hrs a week of maid service when the fundamental problem she has is she needs to exercise. I've seen enough of the welfare state to know its fundamentally screwed.
