FWIW, I suspect that the gay fraction in the Military has at times been higher than the general population even way back when it was well closeted.

I recall way back reading Mike Hoare's Congo Mercenary (1960's) and he commented that he was surprised at the number of gays in his Merc unit. I don't think its so surprising. In the company of men... either the military or the priesthood.

The gay % I think is 4% of the population.
