You sound like Obama where he asks the Republicans what alternatives they suggest to repealing Obamacare. Good strategy particularly in situations where folks suggest status quo, which obviously is not acceptable.

1. Statistics that would reveal whether children of welfare parents were succeeding (able to suport themselves and function in the culture and economy.

2. Statistics that would reveal, percentage wise, the rate of the populations going on and off welfare.

3. Statistics that would reveal whether welfare mothers eventually marry and why/or why not.

4. Statistics that would reveal the percentage of welfare recipients nationally and then these would be broken down by geographical region..

5. Statisitics that would reveal the racial breakdown of recipients and their rate of increase or decrease.

6. Statistics that would reveal how many children of a welfare parent are themselves on welfare.

7. Statistics that would show how many welfare children gradaute from either grade shool , high school, community college, college, or get a GED..

8. Statistics that would show how many welfare children were accepted for enlistment in the Armed Forces.

9. Statistics that would show the average size of the welfare family and whether this size was increasing or decreasing.

10. Statistics which would show how many welfare mothers went back to school and got a degree of some kind and what kind of degree it was.

11. Statistics that would show how much in, raw numbers, welfare payments were consting us and what part of the national budget each welfare categoy represented.

12. Statistics which would show the projected increase or decrease of welfare payments on a percentage basis of the national budget.

13. Statisticis whlich would show when, if applicable, different welfare programs were projected to run out of money.

14. Statisitics which would show which segemets of the US population support welfare and what programs the do or do not support.

15. Statistics which would show what kind of restrictions on welfare should be placed. (Example: drug testing before receiving beneftis.)

16. Statistics which would show what kind of new welfare programs the population would support (Example: Free Collge education for welfare kids).

Those would do for a start. I probably could think of some more given more time. Please excuse the spelling mistakes above--I am pressed for time.
