Unless they are like my relative who decided that Section 8 housing, SS disability, 20 hours/week of maid service, food stamps, & the ability to sleep in as late as she likes and have absolutely no work hassles is the preferred way to live starting in her early 40's. Whats not to like??

The world is a strange place and its not always easy to know what will happen when you set about alleviating pain and suffering in the world. Sometimes you enable people to become fat and lazy. The seeds for that are in most individuals. It just takes the governments helping hand to let it blossom for some.

Well what you ended up pointing out was that welfare moms with kids who had colds were clogging up ER's. That's what I saw. Skin in the game only works if people have skin. The very poor have no skin. If they had skin, they would not be the very poor. The way to "cure" the problem is to lift the poor out of poverty. Then they will have skin, which they can put in the "game".
