A majority of hispanics in TX and in the US identify as racially white:

The share of Hispanics identifying themselves as white increased over the past decade from 48 percent to 53 percent, while the proportion of those who marked "some other race" dropped from 42 percent to 37 percent. Many Hispanics previously preferred to check the "some other race" category to express their nationalities - such as Mexican or Cuban.

at least 84 percent of Hispanics in El Paso County marked the "white" box on their 2010 Census forms.

Hispanics ARE descended from Spanish blood, probably not entirely, but largely, yes. DNA tests of people in northern Mexico and among TX hispanics show they're about 70% of European descent.

Bentway, being a racist, would dispute this, of course.

Yup. Apparently they are fairly common in Mexico City. To pretend that the term was invented for Zimmerman is, well typical of the wingnuts attempts to rewrite reality.
