I just called the company and was told that earnings will probably not
be released until late Dec or Jan. However they are going to release
preliminary numbers (mid) to late Dec. I think this is a good sign, because
they probably wouldn't release preliminary numbers before they become official
unless they were favorable to the sharelholders (IMO)!!! I also asked
about the internet program that was released last week, and was told
that there was good response from the public and that everything was
going as planned!!!!

"The value of the five contracts was not disclosed."

The above extract from the recent news release regarding new and renewed contracts in five states accounts for the lack of any significant market reaction IMHO. Even in light of the good news for BETA there is no way to determine the worth of the contracts. Therefore, no meaningful analysis or earnings guesstimate can be made.

This is one of those partially informative news releases. The payoff will only be evident in future quarters.

I am still loving it!

Regards,

Tom

News Release Analysis by Napeague

Hello TASA Followers,

Bob Davis posted the following TASA news release commentary on his Napeague Letter Web Site napeague.com

Earlier this morning Touchstone Applied Sciences (NASDAQ:TASA) distributed a Press Release announcing that "its subsidiary, Beck Evaluation and Testing Associates (BETA), has been awarded multi-year assessment, development or technical assistance contracts by state educational authorities in five states."

Consulting income does not currently provide a major portion of the Company's revenue, so this event is not going to automatically move TASA "up to the next level". However, these consulting projects contribute relatively high margins, and thus may have a stronger impact on TASA's bottom line. In addition, this demonstrates that TASA's reputation is growing, and such consulting contracts can lead to other "synergies" which will help the Company's growth.

Regards,

Tom
