It destroys your life forever if you start using it as a teen or even early 20's when your brain isn't fully developed yet. It is a tough call on the medical use side . Sanjay Gupta has a real in depth report on the topic. But we have to get real here any kind of alcohol or drug addiction and dependence ruins your health over time whether it is marijuana, cocaine or vodka.

Yeah, I've known for a long time that MJ helps with seizures and with pain. And now in the Gupta special the Israelis are saying it helps to eradicate cancer. There is definite medical benefit but its still a drug that can cause addiction. And in this country, there are just too many people strung out on drugs IMO.

I haven't heard such from folks who deal with this everyday viz. the police force. I have personal friends in the force and they tell me that all the night auto accidents they get called for involve alcohol and meth, none for marijuana whatsoever. They say that it is a well known secret that marijuana get your attention very focused and that it keeps you very alert.

Where would the pharma industry be if people started using medical marijuana instead of their drugs? Another MIC type instance of big lobby: the pharma industry.

Truth be told.

Need to disagree

There is really no comparison

Alcohol destroys organs..brains and liver primarily

Irreversible inevitable, documented, physical damage...and it remains legal

Pot does not do that

It may be true that a pot habit tends to distract and, and like any habit, may result in abuses and behavioural issues

..but that is more a function of the users make up than the action of the pot

There is negligible physical or organ damage and mounting evidence that it has valid medicinal properties, as the trend in legalizing its use for medicinal purposes suggests
