Are you so naive as to look at these processes over short periods of time? Hell, it took decades for our own country to become a secure democracy.

Wrong. Saddam was much more of a threat to Iran than the US is or the current Iraq govt is. Saddam actually invaded Iran and tried to annex their oil fields. Long before Bush came to power.



HOW the U.S. gained anything from the invasion of Iraq?

We removed a madman who'd started mutliple wars in his past and would have started new wars by now. Iraq today is not a threat to the region. Under Saddam it was. Hey, do you remember who first declared the Persian Gulf to be a vital interest of the US? Hint: That's called the Carter Doctrine. And do you know which President signed the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998? You might be surprised to learn it wasn't George Bush.
