There IS a good reason for people to defend coal and that's JOBS.

The other reasons are that coal is the cheapest form of energy we have and we have it in abundance. It is foundation of U.S. energy independence. Energy independence means that we can stop meddling in the affairs of mideast countries and let them choke on their oil.

Coal powered the industrial revolution. It has been at the core of the economic expansion in the U.S. If coal was banned tomorrow, millions would die. And those left would be freezing in the dark.

China is NOT moving away from coal. I know liberals think they will but they think all kinds of things that are wrong.
