Jim,

Your perception is "right on." My perception of Johnny Thomas's business plan (rather than philosophy) is that 10\998 is a year for very aggressive external growth (i.e. via acquisition), looking to achieve 45% ++market share and $1/2 billion++ in sales. This to be followed by concentration on developing internal growth rate of 20%-30% annually, by the year 2000. (BTW, the current internal growth rate is 7%. While not great, it shows that there is no loss of sales due to acquisitions, and is still growing. The lack of tinkering with the internal growth rate at this time is intentional on the part of management.)

Well, teammate Pete, is this a fair explanation?

regards,
glen
