Teevee, respectfully, you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

XOM is buying Interoil gas. 4.5 TCF of the stuff, as feedstock for their own project. Where does IRR fit into that plan? It is a straight purchase. Nothing more. On top of that, XOM strategically built a "T" into their existing pipeline specifically to be able to T-into a short pipeline to IOCs Elk/Antelope fields.

XOM is exploring the potential for carrying IOC in drilling a few appraisal wells just to see how good their properties are. IOC does have a lot of PNG acreage, or did you forget about that?
It may surprise to the upside. It may not. Time will tell.

IOC was trading at $75 long before XOM came into the picture. There are other suitors. Did you also forget about Shell's interest? Or the JKM consortium? Or Total? Or Petronas?

If you want to talk IOC down, that is fine but at least do it with a modicum of truth behind the post.
