Well said, anyone who knows history, understands the truth of that statement. Further, liberals in academia led the Eugenics movement of "scientific racism". They viewed Laissez-faire as a policy of promoting "unfit" breeding. Liberals supported the notion that eugenics policies needed to be adopted by the government in order to close the door to the unfit breeds of humans so that the "superior races" could survive. This Social Darwinism was supported by leading liberals such as Richard Hofstadter, who coined the phrase "Darwinian Collectivism". It was an intellectuals way of justifying racism.

Eugenics advocated planned state control of human breeding. So, it fit in well with the collective big government planners mindset as a sound method for population control. Herbert Croly, founder of the magazine "The New Republic was a big proponent of Eugenics.

The Eugenics movement cleverly changed their sheets, dawned masks and picked up sharp knives to form the organization "Planned Parenthood".
