Hi Roadwalker................very happy you found this thread.

I take my dog on hikes in the mts when possible. We start out on leash, but I let her off leash as soon as we're out of the parking lot, so she can have a good experience. I know I'm not supposed to do this, and I might get caught one day, but she's one of the rare dogs that avoids confrontations, and is under complete voice command. We don't do over night hikes anymore, but if we did we'd buy one of these. Let them carry their own food. ;)
