Sowell has written a book about the question (The Vision of the Annointed) but you're not allowed to read him. So you can't see what he does. 80% of scientists lean democratic and only 6% are Republicans. Bull. Stats like that are usually based on surveys of associations that lean leftwing and include people like sociologists and psychologists. You quote crap like that for ego reasons, it makes you feel like you're associated with the "smart" people and intellectuals just as described in the post you just responded to. What if you included geologists and engineers who work in industry? They're highly educated too and as smart or smarter than a bunch of leftist academics.
