Damon officially stole the title of "King of the Left-wing Flops" when Box Office Mojo reported "Elysium" has zero chance of reaching $100 million-----a film that will have to crack $400 million worldwide just to break even.

The good news is that the movie business, like others, requires profits to operate. No profits, no operations.

Free markets work wonderfully. If Matt Damon creates ENOUGH loser Hollywood Liberal movies, the money will soon dry up, and that will be the end of that.

And that's the way it ought to be.

I love it when leftist movies flop.

All of this likely serves to explain why Damon was so shamelessly dishonest during his "Elyisum" promotional blitz. "I don't think it is trying to say anything," Damon assured potential ticket-buyers as news of "Elysium's" left-wing agenda started to dribble out.
I saw it over the weekend. The left wing messaging was not very well hidden. It was straight forward pandering to the illegal immigration issue, with strong finger pointing at white Americans, characterized by Jodie Foster. It was very racist and at the conclusion of the movie, we are clearly shown how everyone world wide would be healed if they became an automatic citizen of the USA, then the rich white culture would be forced to take care of them and they would be immediately well and happy. It was also the most violent and gun centered movie I've seen in a long time.

Elysium: “Flaming balls of left wing fail.”

... But why should an actor think it’s right to take a $20-million payday (or whatever) to make a $100-million movie touting socialism in the hopes of turning a profit in the free market? What sense does that make? Why should he try to sell us what he wouldn’t buy? I have no problem with the guy sending his kids to private schools — I did too. But then why go around singing the praises of corrupt teachers unions and a failed public system you wouldn’t use?
....
What pried them loose from the truth of their own lives, the truth of their own hearts? It’s almost a kind of madness, isn’t it?
