All,

Zack's earnings estimates for 1997 & 1998 are $0.82 and $1.03 respectively. That's a 25% increase which is good.

But where is the strong quarter to quarter growth? Zack's estimate for the 4th quarter 1997 is $0.20 which compares to $0.23 recorded for the 3rd quarter & $0.24 for the 2nd quarter. $1.03 for 1998 won't get Cymer out of the "2 bits are quarter" range.

Re: Beliefs

Hi Bruce, To answer your question, I think I would call myself a believer in the long term good prospects of an investment in Cymi. By that I mean that's the way things look to me, based on the information I have. I do Not mean that I believe in Cymi like Billy Graham believes in Jesus. I could conceivably change my mind about Cymi based on new information, or I could decide to buy more.

I'm no Stock Maven, nor do I have any technical expertice. I'm doing the best I can to judge and make decisions based on the information I can get. I want maximum access to information and informed opinion.

Of course one always must consider the source of information and the possibility of disinformation or just plain wrong information. But it is always wrong to insult a person or accuse him of deceit based on only suspicion.

I think these threads offer small investors a wonderful opportunity to exchange information, insites, and ideas. The value of the thread is ours to loose, and loose it we will if we insult and offend those with differing opinions. That is something I believe strongly.

It seems to me that it is important to consider this question:

Can what is said on these threads influence the stock price?

I would very much like to hear others' opinions on this. My opinion is that what we say has No substancial effect on price.

Best Regards,

diana
