I should clarify my response.. Yes, Trimble definitely had an adverse effect on GPS related IPO's. Trimble is the most diversified of the GPS start-ups, yet it had trouble negotiating the market instabilities. Some of these were due to serious mis-assessments of market maturity. After the analysts heard "wolf" one too many times, they ignored Trimble and the GPS sector. Yes, the inability to go IPO damaged several startups in their ability to grow or diversify. Trimble was just trying to grow, and made some mistakes.
