Kentucky Statehouse Staffers Accuse Rep. John Arnold of Sexual Harassment, Assault

wfpl.org

Two longtime Kentucky statehouse employees have filed ethics complaints against Democratic state Rep. John A. Arnold Jr., alleging a pattern of sexual assault and harassment dating back to early 2010.

Cassaundra Cooper and Yolanda Costner, in separate complaints, allege Arnold inappropriately touched them and made lewd and vulgar comments in numerous incidents over several years. Arnold is a veteran legislator from Sturgis.

Cooper and Costner filed their complaints Friday with the Legislative Ethics Commission. They are employed by the state Legislative Research Commission—a nonpartisan agency that provides the legislature with staff and research support. Cooper is assigned as an aide to House Majority Leader Rocky Adkins. Costner is assigned as an adviser to House Majority Whip Tommy Thompson.

The complaints were obtained by WFPL and The Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting.

Both Cooper and Costner declined to comment for this story and referred questions to their attorney, Thomas Clay. He acknowledged the complaints but declined to comment. Both women agreed to be identified in connection with this report.

Arnold, 68, is a retired western Kentucky chiropractor who has served in the House since 1995. When reached for comment on Wednesday, Arnold said: "I've been advised not to comment."

In her complaint, Cooper alleges that "people responsible for establishing the laws" failed to take her sexual harassment claims against Arnold seriously.

"I feel like the people that I put my trust in to provide me a safe work environment have let me down and they continue let me down," she wrote in the complaint.

The women said they brought these allegations to members of the Legislative Research Commission, high-ranking Democratic representatives and a member of the Kentucky State Police.

The first alleged incident occurred in March 2010, according to the complaints. Subsequent alleged encounters include name-calling, inappropriate touching and cursing.

In March 2010, Arnold allegedly grabbed Costner's underwear while they walked up the steps of the state Capitol's Annex, according to the complaint. She claims state Rep. Reginald Meeks witnessed the incident and intervened.

Her complaint states:

"Rep. Arnold laughed and told Yolanda 'I just could not resist grabbing those fancy red lace panties.' Rep. Reginald Meeks became upset that Rep. Arnold had grabbed Yolanda's underwear and told him 'You don't every (sic) touch a sister! Yolanda is a married woman and somebody's mother. You never grab or touch another man's wife!! You better not let me catch you disrespecting Yolanda or any other sister again!!' Rep. Meeks was very upset that this happened to Yolanda. Rep. Arnold response to Rep. Meeks by saying 'Oh shut up! I do whatever I want to Yolanda. Because I have known her for a long time and longer than you!' Rep. Meeks told him 'I don't care you long you have known Yolanda! You better not ever disrespect her again!!'"

Meeks declined to comment on the matter Tuesday evening.

“The alleged complaint that you have is apparently going through a process,” he said. “I would prefer not to abridge that process, and for it go through that process as it is supposed to do.”

Another alleged encounter took place this year on Feb. 14—Valentine's Day. Cooper claims she was in Thompson’s office and bent over to pick up a package of bottled water when Arnold allegedly hit her on her buttocks.

Other legislative leaders either witnessed or were told of various alleged incidents of harassment, according to the ethics complaints.

In her complaint, Cooper said Susan Klimchak, communications director for House Floor Leader Adkins, told Arnold to leave Cooper alone. Klimchak declined to comment Tuesday.

The women also claim they met with Roy Collins, personnel director of the Legislative Research Commission, multiple times beginning on Feb. 14. They say they sought advice about about Arnold.

The complaints state that Collins, LRC Executive Director Robert Sherman and LRC attorney Laura Hendricks met with the women.

The women claim LRC staffers promised them Arnold’s actions “would not be tolerated" and that Arnold was told to stay away from their work areas when he did not have any business with their respective bosses. Cooper and Costner allege they were told that Arnold was advised to not contact them.

But the women say Arnold ignored the request.

By law, the Legislative Ethics Commission now has 10 days to provide Arnold with copies of the complaints. Within 20 days the commission must initiate a preliminary inquiry.

If the commission determines the facts are insufficient to constitute a violation, the case is closed.

If the commission finds probable cause to believe that a violation of the state ethics code has occurred, it can vote to either issue a private reprimand or else initiate an "adjudicatory proceeding" to determine whether there has been a violation.

Philips...By the looks of Video this does not appear to be a White lemonade stand...surprised?

Boy pulls BB gun, robs kid's lemonade stand

'They got into a wrestling match over the money box'
Thursday, August 22, 2013
wnd.com

The boy wanted to buy a $400 PlayStation 4 video-game system, so he set up a lemonade stand in his Johnstown, Pa., neighborhood and went to work.

“Instead of sitting around being lazy this summer, I wanted to save up money,” he told the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat. “That was my goal this summer.”

Anthony Sanders, 10, receives his award/Photo: Johnstown Tribune-Democrat

But Anthony’s short stint as a lemonade-stand operator took a sour turn when he became the victim of an armed robber.

A 12-year-old boy walked up to Anthony, pointed a BB gun at him and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t hand over his money, according to police.

“They got into a wrestling match over the money box,” Johnstown police Sgt. Patrick Goggin told the paper.

The alleged robber made off with $30, but not before tearing apart the lemonade stand.

Three other youngsters saw what happened and helped police track down the 12-year-old at his home.

“He ran home with the other kids chasing him,” Goggin said.

Police in this city 60 miles east of Pittsburgh have charged the 12-year-old suspect in juvenile court.

Anthony said he wasn’t frightened or intimidated.

“Nope, not at all,” he said.

The next day, he was back on the street selling his lemonade, his dad, Milik Satterwhite, told the paper.

“I’m like, wow,” he said. “I’m proud of him.”

Anthony’s bravery and can-do attitude caught the attention of community leaders.

On Wednesday, the Enactus chapter at the St. Francis University School of Business visited the boy, giving him gift certificates, a plaque and a book on entrepreneurism. The organization promotes entrepreneurial spirit as a way to improve society.

“We’re not here to focus on the young man who robbed him or to characterize Anthony as a victim of crime,” said Randy Frye, dean of the business school.

“What this is about is entrepreneurship,” he added. “Entrepreneurship is having the courage to start a business, have a product and promote your business on the street. For a 10-year-old, that’s amazing.”

Anthony is still hawking his lemonade to raise money for his video game. He said he plans to someday become a chef.

“I’ll start out small with a soup kitchen and work my way up to the top,” he proclaimed.

Looks like Obama's jack boots are wasting a lot of time trying to silence the impeach Obama people.

Big Brother cops crush push to impeach

Reports of police threatening, intimidating Americans at overpass rallies
author-imageGina Loudon
Thursday, August 22, 2013

Thousands of Americans have participated in numerous Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment rallies across the nation over the past few weeks – and now there’s word of several arrests and police intimidation of citizens who peacefully protest on public walkways.

WND reported, when the movement first launched, that Americans were staging protests on freeway overpasses and calling for Obama’s impeachment .

Now, police have responded to some protest sites after reports of profanity and items being thrown from overpasses. Protester and organizer Lisa Zimmerman said none of the claims have been substantiated, and there is a concerted effort to shut down the protests. In two separate incidents, three overpass protesters have been arrested.

It’s finally here! “Impeachable Offenses” is the first draft of the articles of impeachment!

At a rally west of St. Louis, Mark Messmer and Duane Weed were arrested. The incident was caught on a YouTube video that’s racking up about 50,000 views per day.

As seen in the video, the protesters, while standing on a public sidewalk, asked repeatedly what law they were breaking and why they were being asked to leave.

One officer can be heard saying, “I’ve been polite and asked you to leave the overpass.”

Another officer can then be heard saying, “Can you come with me? Do you recognize I am a peace officer? I’ve asked you and told you that you needed to leave.”

One protester asked, “Are we breaking a law here? What law am I breaking?”

An officer spoke up: “Failure to comply with the highway patrol. I’ve given you two chances. Third time, I’m going to arrest you.”

<script height="506px" width="900px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#pbid=9e3aa6b02ecc41ebaf52c50f275163c2&ec=1xeTZ4ZDpxrfHcJSo65j2b7YpaIOuXlq"></script>

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that a spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said the reason for the police intervention was the potential for a traffic hazard.

The Post-Dispatch said the protesters spent 24 hours in the St. Charles County jail. Prosecutors have yet to determine which charges to press.

Dave Roland, director of the Theodore L. Stiles Center for Liberty in Olympia, Wash., viewed the video.

“Courts have been clear that American citizens have a fundamental right to peacefully offer their political opinions on public sidewalks, as long as they are not preventing other people from using those sidewalks,” he told WND. “The video offers no suggestion that these speakers were obstructing the sidewalk or causing any traffic problems. In fact, the officers’ own squad cars seemed to be more of a threat to traffic than the protesters themselves.

“Courts have made clear that the freedom of speech is so important, citizens must be allowed to exercise that freedom unless it is clear that the speakers are creating dangerous driving conditions,” Roland said. “Under these circumstances, it appears that the officers had no legitimate reason to interfere with the citizens’ peaceful political expression.”

Roland noted citizens are required to comply with police orders to leave an area if it is reasonably necessary to allow the police to arrest lawbreakers or investigate a crime scene.

“But police officers are not kings, and citizens have no obligation to follow improper or unlawful orders,” he said. “It is extremely disturbing that these officers seemed unable to identify any law that justified their instructions to leave the overpass.”

In Fresno, Calif., police arrested one man at an overpass rally. Brian Sumner, a 24-year-old veteran of the Iraq war who served as a combat medic with the 1st Infantry Division, spent a night in jail after police and Department of Transportation workers arrived to remove his sign from the overpass.

Sumner told WND he knew there would be a confrontation when the police arrived and accused him of smelling “like marijuana.” The entire incident was captured on video by several different protesters and posted to YouTube. The video ends with Sumner’s arrest.

<script height="506px" width="900px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#pbid=9e3aa6b02ecc41ebaf52c50f275163c2&ec=1teTZ4ZDqHTHrg8droSrNpMlL6Z-xNYN"></script>

Sumner told WND his arrest “was a complete waste of taxpayer’s money and a major waste of time on both the California Highway Patrol and on the citizen’s part.”

“It’s unfortunate that in this ‘free’ country people expressing their First Amendment rights are treated with such disregard,” he said.

Sumner was charged with obstruction of justice and failure to obey a lawful order. His court date is scheduled for September.

The police reacted differently at protests in other parts of the country.

West of Chicago on I-88, police responded to reports of overpasses protesters blocking traffic and throwing objects from the bridge.

Overpass protester Cynthia Casanova told WND that one officer “said he knew it wasn’t the case but had to check it out anyway.”

“The police were very cool and gave us the thumbs up after they left,” she said.

However, Illinois coordinator Fred Schneider told WND he has had eight encounters with law enforcement.

“In all situations, they have been polite respectful and let us continue with our protests,” Schneider said.

Ann Whitten, co-founder and national leader of Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment, said some protesters react to police differently and have found creative places to stage their protests when threatened with arrest.

“In many areas of the country, overpasses protesters have been made to leave under the threat of arrest, even though permits were not required,” Whitten told WND. “In Oklahoma City, protesters were greeted by police as they arrived to protest at the Aug. 6 event and told they could not use the overpass. The group moved to a different location, not on an overpass, and continued with their message.”

In Oklahoma City, overpass protesters held their rally on a pedestrian bridge over I-240. Protester Joey Dunlap told WND police came and threatened them with arrest, but “they couldn’t name a law or city ordinance we were breaking, but threatened arrest if we stayed on the bridge.”

Oklahoma overpass protest leader Karen Waldrop thought there was something odd about the police moving protesters from a public walkway and threatening arrest. She contacted the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, which oversees the Highway Patrol, and was told they “should be able to rally there as long as walkway traffic wasn’t being obstructed.” Officers at the scene did not agree.

In Indiana, Jesse Leininger did not get a visit from police, but he did encounter a military convoy passing under the overpass where he and a few friends were holding a rally. They were on an overpass on I-69 just south of Fort Wayne, Ind.

<script height="505px" width="900px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#pbid=9e3aa6b02ecc41ebaf52c50f275163c2&ec=dveTZ4ZDpyAA75LEs2d-Ccys9kU92tyH"></script>

Leininger told WND he was holding a banner that stated, “We Support the Troops – Impeach Obama.” At more than 60,000 views and counting, the video is quite popular on YouTube.

“It was a very quick an impromptu rally and we had no idea it would gain so much attention,” he said.

Leininger said it is a great way to gauge military support for President Obama. It may have been an unscientific poll, but he said that from what he has seen in the city, “that is the general consensus.”

“We have a few military members that have commented on our pages, and they all feel the same way,” he said.

When asked if the honks could have been in response to the “We Support Our Troops” part of the sign, Leininger answered: “They specifically honked at the ‘Impeach Obama’ banner. We know because they messaged us and told us.”

Leininger was quick to give credit to the overpass protest organizers.

“The credit goes out to Overpasses.org for organizing these rallies,” he said. “Ours by chance just got some good video.”

James Neighbors of Norman, Okla., is heading up the nationwide effort. He told WND he believes the overpass protests and Sen. Ted Cruz’s call on Americans to rise up if they want to defund Obamacare are the perfect storm to stop the measure.

“America is on the precipice of disaster,” Neighbors said. “Barack Obama is the most criminal president in the history of this nation, and must be removed for our nation to survive. His many crimes are clear, his disdain for America obvious. Lady Liberty is calling for help, and the citizens of this nation must stand up and say, ‘NO MORE!’”

In an online video, while holding a large “Honk to Impeach Obama” sign, protester Jason Shepard said: “I am here because of liberty. I am here because I want freedom. I am here because of my son standing there on the other side. I want him to have a good future. I want him to have the type of life growing up that I had.”

<script height="505px" width="900px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#ec=w1MDd4ZDrN0_u4rwx_hN6Jj8WL7V-sFD&pbid=9e3aa6b02ecc41ebaf52c50f275163c2"></script>

Shepard, a black man, clarified: “I want people to also realize that this is not about color. It is about right and wrong, and it is about justice. It doesn’t matter who it is, black, white; it doesn’t matter. Wrong is wrong, and he needs to go.”

Neighbors was inspired by a protest against Obamacare earlier in the year in Carlsbad, Calif., and said he decided then to take the movement nationwide. He created “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” on Facebook, and he said the movement has taken off so well, it has surprised even him. In just weeks, more than 35,000 citizens have participated.

Neighbors fields calls and emails with reports from protests around the nation. Obama supporters have harassed many of the protests, throwing objects from their vehicles, hurling obscenities, making obscene gestures and calling the police with false reports of race riots. Upon responding, law enforcement has found that the accusations were bogus and have, except in a few cases, recognized the right of peaceful protest and left the groups alone.

Regional coordinator Fred Schneider told WND: “Our first priority is the safety of our protesters. We don’t want any one having problems with police or creating any safety issues. We are a peaceable group only exercising our First Amendment right to free speech and redressing our grievances to government.”

Karen Waldrop, Oklahoma coordinator, told WND she is saddened by the way law enforcement has been reacting to some of the protests.

“The overpass protesters are the law-abiding citizens,” Waldrop said.

She said the people on the overpasses are supporters of the rule of law and traditionally are the base of support for law enforcement.

“They are losing support from a lot of us,” she added.

Even after the reports of harassment by Obama supporters and incidents with the police, everyone interviewed by WND plans to head out again on Sept. 7 for the next nationwide Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment Rally.

89-Year-Old Wounded WWII Vet Beaten to Death by Two Black Teens

In Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday night, according to local reports, World War II veteran and Battle of Okinawa survivor Delbert Belton was beaten by two African American teenagers described as between the ages of 16 and 19. Belton passed away Thursday morning of head injuries.

Belton, 89, was shot in the leg at Okinawa. He was confronted in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, when the two suspects jumped him, beat him, and left him to die. One is described as heavy and wearing black clothing, and the other is described as six feet tall and 150 lbs., wearing a silk do-rag.

Delbert Belton, who was wounded in the Battle of Okinawa in 1945, died Thursday after he was beaten in Spokane, Wash.

By M. Alex Johnson, Staff Writer, NBC News
An 88-year-old wounded veteran of World War II died Thursday after he was brutally beaten, apparently at random, in the parking lot of his lodge in Spokane, Wash., authorities said.

Spokane police said they were seeking two suspects in the attack Wednesday night on Delbert "Shorty" Belton, a retired aluminum company worker who'd lived in the city for most of his life after he was discharged from the Army after the war. Belton died of his injuries Thursday morning, police said.

The suspects were described as black males of average build, 16 to 19 years old, wearing black clothing and red sneakers. Police Lt. Mark Griffiths said they apparently attacked Belton at random.

"It appears he was assaulted in the parking lot, and there was no indication that he would have known these people prior to the assault," Griffiths said at a news conference.

Police released these surveillance camera photos Thursday of two young men believed to be the suspects in the beating death of Delbert Belton of Spokane, Wash. Click to enlarge the images.

As police released surveillance camera photos of two young men believed to be the suspects, a makeshift memorial overflowing with flowers, U.S. flags and messages of sympathy sprouted Thursday outside the Eagles Lodge in North Spokane.

Friends and family remembered Belton as a warm, generous man who helped many people over the years.

Belton was waiting for a friend at the lodge because he didn't want her to walk in alone, Lillian Duncan, a longtime friend, told the Spokesman-Review of Spokane.

"He was so awesome," Duncan told the newspaper. "Anybody that didn't get to know him missed out on a wonderful angel in their life."

Many others told similar stories.

"If it wouldn't have been for him, I wouldn't have been able to get my life straight," Belton's great-nephew Allen Hills told NBC station KHQ of Spokane.

Hills said he had hit bottom about 10 years ago in California, where he was unemployed and sleeping on his mother's sofa. That's when his great-uncle stepped in with the offer of a car and a new life in Washington state.

"It seems trivial, but he really did save my life," Hills said. "He made it possible for me to get a job and find work."

Ted Dennison, a friend, called Belton "a tough old bird" who was shot in the leg in the 1945 Battle of Okinawa. His experiences in the war didn't appear to have dampened Belton's instinct to help others, Denison said.

"He was always there any time I needed anything," Denison told KHQ.

Belton died the same day another Spokane man was killed in a confrontation with police, a manifestation of what Hills said was the "senseless violence" plaguing the city of 210,000 in eastern Washington.

"It's too much, and it's constant and never-ending," said Hills, who said Belton was just the latest victim.

"He wasn't just my great-uncle," Hills said. "He was a great person, and he didn't deserve to die like that."

GRANDMA IN COURT..Hilarious

Lawyers should never ask grandmas a question if they aren’t prepared for the answer!

In a trial, a small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, an elderly grandmother to the stand. He approached her and asked; "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you're a big disappointment to me.. You lie, cheat on your wife, manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.."

The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney (the opponent's lawyer)?"

She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster. He's lazy, bigoted, and has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. ..Yes I know him."

The defense attorney almost died.

The judge asked both lawyers to approach the bench and in a quiet voice said: "If either of you rascals asks her if she knows me, I'll send you to jail for contempt of court !!!

National Weather Service: Al Gore is lying about hurricanes

If you didn’t already know that Al Gore is full of hot air, this should open your eyes.

from Washington Post:

If you believe former Vice President Al Gore, global warming is morphing science fiction into reality. In his exclusive interview with the Post’s Ezra Klein published Wednesday, Gore says (bold text indicates my added emphasis):

The extreme events are more extreme. The hurricane scale used to be 1-5 and now they’re adding a 6. The fingerprint of man-made global warming is all over these storms and extreme weather events.

But Gore’s statement about this new breed of hurricanes is patently false. There’s no new hurricane category in the works.

Just to be sure, I contacted Chris Vaccaro, director of the National Weather Service’s office of public affairs, and asked him whether the National Hurricane Center is about to unveil the doomsday Category 6. In less than 10 minutes, he fired back this response:

No, we’re not pursuing any such change. I’m also not sure who VP Gore means by “they.” I’d also point out that the top rating, Category 5, has no ceiling: it includes hurricanes with top sustained winds of 157mph and higher

Generally, Gore’s characterization of the links between global warming and hurricane intensity is a bit fast and loose.

Whereas Gore tells Klein hurricanes are “stronger now” due to manmade warming, the freshly leaked United Nations climate assessment is much more equivocal. Although the assessment says hurricane activity has become more intense in the Atlantic since 1970, there is “low confidence” of a human contribution.

So, the next time you hear Al Gore say something like, “The science is settled,” just remember that he gets his facts from science fiction movies.

Kenny. Here are some young people growing up to be just like you stirring up racial conflict for Hussein Obama.

Meet the privileged Obama-supporting white kids who perpetrated cruel Oberlin race hoax
08/22/2013
Chuck Ross
dailycaller.com

One of the two students removed from Oberlin College earlier this year for allegedly circulating virulently racist, anti-Jewish and anti-gay messages around campus is an ardent leftist and committed supporter of President Barack Obama, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Dylan Bleier, one of the two students, organized a voter registration drive on behalf of Obama before the 2008 election. That voter drive is still listed on the website for Organizing for Action, the non-profit group whose mission is to advance Obama’s agenda.

The Oberlin Police Department identified Bleier and his partner in the spree, Matt Alden, as two of the principal architects of a month-long spate of racist, anti-Jewish and anti-gay messages at the small, private campus.

On his now-defunct LinkedIn page, Bleier noted that he was the founder and president of the Ithaca High School for Obama club. He also identified himself as a member of the Oberlin College Democrats.

Bleier also listed his participation in a group called Ithaca White Allies Against Structural Racism. He joined the group in May of this year, he reported. He said the group’s goal is to “eradicate structural racism in Tompkins County [NY], via forums discussing racism.”

On his Twitter account, which he protected after TheDCNF reached him on Tuesday, Bleier hailed Obama’s comments on George Zimmerman, tweeting: “Zimmerman is just the tip of the iceberg, a single highly visible symptom of the racist system that is ‘succeeding’ in the US.”

Bleier also describes himself on Twitter as an “atheist/pacifist/environmentalist/libertarian socialist/consequentialist.”

The progressive school canceled all classes for a day in a mad scramble to address the alleged hate-related incidents the campus. The saga culminated in a report of a person wearing a hood and robe resembling a KKK outfit near the Afrikan Heritage House, according to Oberlin’s president Marvin Krislov in a letter also signed by three deans.

The Ku Klux Klan incident at Oberlin unfolded in the early morning hours of Monday, March 4.

Senior Sunceray Tabler reported the alleged KKK sighting. Concerned students gathered that night. By morning, they had convinced school administrators to cancel classes for a day and hold a campus-wide teach-ins focusing on racism and homophobia. The kerfuffle made national news. It prompted Lena Dunham, Oberlin alum and star of the HBO series “Girls,” to tweet: “Hey Obies, remember the beautiful, inclusive and downright revolutionary history of the place you call home. Protect each other.” Like Bleier, Dunham is an Obama enthusiast.

Oberlin College president Marvin Krislov told CNN at the time that the student rallies were “an educational moment.” He said the students “feel inspired because the institution has the courage to talk about these issues and to confront concerns and that is part of our educational mission.”

Days after the claimed sighting of the KKK member, Oberlin police Lt. Mike McCloskey theorized that the figure Tabler saw was likely a female student who had been wandering around in the same area wearing a blanket.

In June, McCloskey told TheDCNF that Tabler’s boyfriend, who was with her at the time of the incident, said he didn’t see anyone wearing racist attire.

McCloskey also confirmed for TheDCNF then that two white males had been removed from Oberlin’s campus. He would not identify the suspects, but he did note that county prosecutors had no plans to press any criminal charges which might apply.

The FBI also opened an investigation into the spate of hateful messages. Reached Wednesday, the FBI’s Cleveland office told TheDCNF that it could not comment on the case.

While officials at Oberlin have been hostile to all requests for comment since calling off classes, the closed status of the case allowed TheDCNF to obtain police reports through an Ohio Open Records Act request.

The police records indicate that Marjorie Burton, Oberlin’s director of safety and security, initially contacted local police on February 15.

A slew of reports had come in on Feb. 9. One student reported an anti-Semitic flier a campus building. A swastika showed up drawn on a glass door at another building.

Over the next two days, students reported seeing fliers with swastikas and demeaning comments about Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Feb. 11, a female student claimed that both Bleier and Alden were making derogatory comments about her online. She also stated “she had reason to believe that Alden and Bleier were responsible not only for the obscene posts about her but also the derogatory fliers that are being posted around campus.” The student said that Alden and Bleier “are good friends and always together.”

According to the student, someone using the email address marv.krislov@gmail.com directed her to a derogatory comment that had been posted about her online.

On Feb. 13, a student reported to campus officials that a racist flier had appeared on her door. The flier made a derogatory reference to Black History Month and — in all capital letters — the sexual assault of “A WHITE WOMAN!”

The unidentified student said she believed that Bleier and Alden were “responsible for this flyer being posted on her door.”

On Feb. 15, a large handmade poster of a Nazi flag with a swastika was discovered taped inside the windows of the second floor of the Science Hall. Bleier was later found to have after-hours access to the Science Center.

The police report shows that school officials questioned Bleier and Alden. The report says that the two students admitted to leaving at least some of the markings, literature, and other paraphernalia across campus as a “joke” or a “troll.”

Oberlin police later subpoenaed IP records from Google and determined that Bleier was behind the fake Krislov account. Krislov initially indicated that he wanted to pursue an investigation but he did not follow through with the complaint, the police report says.

On Feb. 27, Oberlin security officers finally caught Bleier and Alden — apparently red-handed — in the process of their hateful message circulation. At the time, according to the report, one of the students had discarded a piece of paper reading: “Islam. It kills.”

Bleier attempted to explain away the incriminating evidence, according to the police report.

“I’m doing it as a joke to see the college overreact to it as they have with the other racial postings that have been posted on campus,” he told campus cops.

Both Bleier and Alden then denied having anything to do with the previous postings around the school.

At one point, police records say, Bleier wrote a statement in Burton’s office claiming responsibility for the flier left on the door of a female student February 5. He also owned up to responsibility for some cards containing the word “niggermania.”

“I printed out a page of racist ‘niggermania’ cards to show to friends as a joke/for the shock value,” he allegedly wrote, adding that he had somehow accidently left them sitting in a lounge on campus.

“Matt Alden and I made a giant Nazi flag as a joke to troll people and put it up in the science center,” Bleier also confessed, the police report says.

He claimed to have had nothing to do with any of the other swastikas strewn around campus, but then allegedly wrote, “I posted Krislov’s head photoshopped onto Hitler’s body LoL.”

Comments left by Bleier on an official campus blog suggest that Bleier disagreed with an article Krislov wrote addressing some of the name-calling on a contentious discussion board called ObieTalk. Bleier asked what moral authority Oberlin had in the first place, “especially after approving the switch to frack gas…”

Alden categorically denied involvement in spreading the Nazi imagery, writing in a statement, “I had nothing to do with any swastika banner or other sickening Nazi paraphernalia.”

Lt. McCloskey told TheDCNF in June that both students had “lawyered up” after their statements and that police had not heard from them.

Bleier recently had an academic paper published along with Oberlin professor Matthew Elrod in The Journal of Physical Chemistry. As a student at Ithaca High School, Bleier ranked among the top 50 students in the nation in the 2010 Chemistry Olympiad. On his LinkedIn page, he claimed to have scored nearly perfect on his SAT.

A recent Oberlin graduate who knows both Bleier and Alden spoke to TheDCNF in a phone interview.

“I wouldn’t consider the individuals involved to be racists,” he said. “I think they were kind of troublemakers trying to stir up the pot a little bit.”

The student, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also suggested that Alden got a kick out of messing with people. “Matt was more of the prankster,” he explained. “Considering they were trolls, they were kind of getting what they wanted out of people getting so upset about it.”

But “then it got to the point where they realized it was bigger than they imagined it could become,” the student added.

The student thinks that Bleier and Alden were likely behind all of the hateful graffiti that marred that campus during the string of incidents in February. He also said that Alden and Bleier had been suspended and removed from campus before the March 4 report of someone wearing KKK attire.

Cornell University law professor William Jacobson, who tracked the Oberlin story at his blog Legal Insurrection, said the fraudulent hate-related incidents “may be the greatest race hoax since Tawana Brawley.”

Jacobson has unsuccessfully reached out to Oberlin officials for comment on the incidents on several occasions.

“Oberlin allowed the entire country to go through months of handwringing over supposedly racist incidents knowing full well it was a hoax,” Jacobson told TheDCNF. “If the president of Oberlin knew of this hoax and allowed Oberlin falsely to be portrayed as a racist campus, he should resign.”

TheDCNF’s requests Wednesday for comment from President Krislov and communications director Scott Wargo were not returned. The school has directly refused to comment on the hoax in the past.

Jeri Galluci, who heads White Allies Against Structural Racism, the Ithaca-based anti-racism alliance cited on LinkedIn by Bleier, confirmed to TheDCNF that Bleier is a member of the group.

“No, no, no,” she said when asked if she thought Bleier was a racist. She added that she had no prior knowledge of the police report recounting Bleier’s involvement in the Oberlin incident.

TheDCNF was able to reach Bleier Tuesday afternoon at his job in Ithaca. He denied involvement in the incidents, but asked for a phone number to reach TheDCNF. He has not called back. However, by Tuesday evening his Twitter account was switched from public to private, and his LinkedIn account had been taken offline.

TheDCNF reached Alden by phone on Wednesday. He hung up without comment. Alden subsequently shut down his Facebook account

MSNBC: Look what's fueling impeachment movement

Nationwide campaign to remove Obama from office snowballs

A new book published by WND Books is fueling the national conversation to impeach President Obama, MSNBC is reporting.

“Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office,” by New York Times bestselling authors Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott, is set to be released Tuesday.

The book lays out the blueprint for impeaching Obama, alleging high crimes, misdemeanors, bribery and other offenses committed against the U.S. Constitution and the limitations on the executive office.

MSNBC.com reported: “The national conversation to impeach the president has been fueled in part by an upcoming book ‘Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office’ that’s set to be released by WND Books next week.”

Continued the news network: “The authors of that book lay out a number of criticisms of the president, including his handling of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and his failure to ‘preserve, protect, and defend’ the Constitution.

“That includes the argument that the president’s health reform law is unconstitutional, even though the Supreme Court ruled more than a year ago that it is constitutional.”

Get the book Obama knew was coming, but couldn’t stop. “Impeachable Offenses” personally autographed!

Earlier this week, BuzzFeed.com reported Klein and Elliott’s new book “ushers in the Obama Impeachment movement.”

“Impeachable Offenses” has already gone into its third printing, Klein said, “due to unexpected demand from bookstores.”

“Clearly a large segment of the population is concerned Obama has overstepped his executive authority and has used his office to circumvent Congress to change, ignore, or at times perhaps invent de facto law,” he added.

WND Books CEO Joseph Farah told Buzzfeed, “We knew this was going to be a popular book. What we didn’t realize is that retailers would recognize it in advance and place large orders before the public weighed in.”

The impeachment movement continued to snowball when Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-Mich., told a crowd of supporters Tuesday it would be a “dream come true” to draft legislation and impeach Obama.

Also, an “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” movement is reportedly sweeping the nation.

WND first reported on the booming movement in July, and now the group claims it has mushroomed to 40,000 members to become “the largest grassroots movement in the nation” in the few weeks since it was launched in June.

The group’s national website has links to Facebook pages of groups in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C.

Cronyism, corruption, cover-ups

“Impeachable Offenses,” meanwhile, has been thrust to the center of the impeachment movement.

Already, the Daily Mail of London has called the work “explosive,” reporting the book contains a “systematic connect-the-dots exercise that the president’s defenders will find troublesome.”

“Consider this work to be the articles of impeachment against Barack Obama,” stated Klein.

“Every American, whether conservative or liberal, Democrat, Republican or independent, should be concerned about the nearly limitless seizure of power, the abuses of authority, the cronyism, corruption, lies and cover-ups documented in this news-making book,” Klein said.

The authors stress the book is not a collection of generalized gripes concerning Obama and his administration. Rather, it is a well-documented indictment based on major alleged violations.

Among the offenses enumerated in the book:
•Obamacare not only is unconstitutional but illegally bypasses Congress, infringes on states’ rights and marking an unprecedented and unauthorized expansion of IRS power.
•Sidestepping Congress, Obama already has granted largely unreported de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens using illicit interagency directives and executive orders.
•The Obama administration recklessly endangered the public by releasing from prison criminal illegal aliens at a rate far beyond what is publicly known.
•The president’s personal role in the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack, with new evidence regarding what was transpiring at the U.S. mission prior to the assault – arguably impeachable activities in and of themselves.
•Illicit edicts on gun control in addition to the deadly “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation intended, the book shows, to collect fraudulent gun data.
•From “fusion centers” to data mining to drones to alarming Department of Homeland Security power grabs, how U.S. citizens are fast arriving at the stage of living under a virtual surveillance regime.
•New evidence of rank corruption, cronyism and impeachable offenses related to Obama’s first-term “green” funding adventures.
•The illegality of leading a U.S.-NATO military campaign without congressional approval.
•Obama has weakened America both domestically and abroad by emboldening enemies, tacitly supporting a Muslim Brotherhood revolution, spurning allies and minimizing the threat of Islamic fundamentalism. The White House is hitting back, calling the book’s impeachment effort “foolhardy.”

“If the Republicans in the House want to try something that foolhardy, it will probably be run by the same group of lawmakers who have voted more than 40 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” an unnamed administration official told the Daily Mail.

“Like most of the partisan actions coming out of the House, the Senate would never stoop to dignify it,” the official added.

Klein and Elliott acknowledge that impeachment of a sitting president “is certainly a matter of the utmost gravity, and not a charge to be undertaken for what our Founding Fathers would have called mere ‘factional’ advantage.”

“We will show how Obama has not hesitated to go beyond democratic, legal and constitutional means to advance his radical agenda,” they write.

Aaron Klein is a New York Times bestselling author, journalist and radio host. He is a senior reporter for WND and hosts the No. 1-rated local weekend radio show, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s WABC Radio.

His previous books include “Fool Me Twice,” “Red Army,” “The Manchurian President,” “The Late Great State of Israel” and “Schmoozing with Terrorists.”

Brenda J. Elliott is an award-winning historian, researcher and New York Times bestselling author. She is the blogger who created RezkoWatch (RW), TheRealBarackObama (RBO) and RBO2.

She has appeared on hundreds of local and national radio shows, has contributed to numerous articles and publications and is the co-author of “Fool Me Twice,” “Red Army” and “The Manchurian President.”
