However, to solve the problem we must first admit that there is one. Folks like you who don't believe there is any problem are what is getting in the way of solving it. Any system that is pay as you go is simply unstable Bull shit. The whole economy runs on pay as you go. Tell me one thing that is funded to perpetuity. As to my selfishness, if I was selfish I would have been whining about paying SS taxes all those 49 years; I didn't. I'm selfish to want my money back? Actuarially, I'll probably get back a little less than I put in. My wife, a little more. I'm not screwing anyone... The Dems have solid proposals to fix SS. The R's want to break it completely, so that your kids get nothing.
