By my calculations the real value of gold in 1979 dollars(because of the current 18 year low)is not $285/ounce but $165 at an annual inflation rate of 3%. Anyone willing to comment on valuing gold in this manner?

I heard on MSNBC this AM that Echo Bay is in negotiations for its own sale!! The stock was bid up 5/16 before market open. But is now down - on open. Now the question is Is the stock down because gold has pulled back a little and few people are aware of this pending sale or Is the stock down because people believe the offer for ECO is going to be less than the present stock price ?? I would love to jump in but........... I AM NOT A RUMOUR SPREADER, I HEARD THIS AT 09:10 THIS A.M. on MSNBC SQUAWK BOX. I haven't been able to get thru to ECO yet, when I do I'll post, if any news. the Chief
