I do agree that it seems safer getting in at 9:31 the day after the signal day, but of course you're risking the opportunity to enjoy a gap up, which would impact the risk/reward ratio.

Ivan, it's really not a risk reduction entry strategy, just an extension of the signal day to the next day IF on the signal day the price does not begin to recover near the close. Otherwise I would enter near the close on the signal day. The fact that the price did not recover on the day of the signal may invalidate the signal day, however. I was not considering a recovery before the close to be part of the signal, I don't know if it is or not by Doug's parameters, do you? In any case, I personally would wait for some sign of life from the dead cat before entering a trade.
