The Right badly wants the three to be black. They have been whooping it up since the beginning. Despite the fact that Jones is clearly white and the police have identified him as such.

That's why I think we should break it down into quarters...........like Hitler did with the Jews........which teen was half white vs who was a quarter black. Then we can decide the degree of punishment for each of the teens......the one with more quarters white gets the lesser punishment and the one more black the more severe punishment.

Which isn't to say there wasn't a tar brush somewhere back in the woodpile. But if there was, it was generations ago...

I've got news for wingers if Darwin is right, and I think he is, we all have at least one relative who was hit with the tar brush some time in our ancestral past.

I think the origin of the discussion was that Jones very clearly looks like he could be of mixed race. That is not to say he is or isn't, but he definitely appears to be.

Not that it matters.

The bigger issue to me is whether there is some actual reason he was charged will a lesser offense, which needs to be explained by the prosecutors in the case.
