What is it that makes it the result of man other than your desire to implement industrial policy?

The data says for that period of time something was abnormal. It says absolutely nothing about why. Absolutely nothing!

The graph you posted showed only one year (2012) under the 2 std dev line. The average is based on the years 1981-2010. To me this calls into question how meaningful this is. Who knows what is "normal" when you only have data for less than 30 years?

I also note that the year outside the 2 std dev area isn't included in the years the std dev's are based on. If it was, presumably the average would be lower and the std dev lines would be wider.

Alarmists have been obsessing over arctic sea ice for a decade now. I see it as a desperate search for something they can point at. I mean hurricanes and tornados aren't getting worse as alarmists predicted. Overall global temperatures have stabilized for 17 years or so. So let's all worry about the "disappearing arctic ice." But why?
