"Democracy isn't great, it is essential. You don't seem to get that." Democracy without the restrains of a constitution is terrible. I do not want my life dictated by the whims of a majority.

"Great" "Essential" whatever, its all irrelevant to the point that we were discussing. Government is still a coercive monopoly even when it is a democratic republic. You seem to have a program running in your head that goes something like this If <criticism of government in general or criticism of government actions when the democrats are in control> Then display "Democracy is <great, essential, or some other positive comment about democracy> End. The program runs frequently but usually with no relevance to what is being discussed.
