Mark/Dave: I believe the original Packard-Bell deal (by far the largest volume deal to date at the time, over a year ago) was priced fairly low, at around $2-$3/unit...but I recall hearing the answer of ("more than DOUBLE" that figure for more recent contracts)...

So I think the $4/unit estimate is pretty fair for now.

Mark.

Re: Royalties

The $2 SystemSoft royalty quoted was calculated by me about a year ago from info provided about the first customer - Micron. This could be checked to some extent by the $4m SystemSoft revenue last quarter.

The $5-6 portable BIOS royalty and the $2 BIOS royalty was from the April Phoenix conference call. Intensive pricing pressures have reduced these prices to $4.50-5.00 and $1.50-1.75, respectively, according to the latest Phoenix call. Nobody on this thread seems to know the breakdown between portable and desktop for SystemSoft, but it's about 50-50 at Phoenix.

SystemSoft investors would serve themselves better by tuning into the Phoenix and Award conference calls and asking more probing questions of Angelo.
