Celeryroot, As far as I can tell, the bulk of LGND's short position is held by Farallon and they already have more than enough LGNDW to cover what's left of their original short position. Doesn't short covering in the tradition sense meaning buying the equity to cover a position? Since Farallon already has received 1.6 million LGND from Ligand and has another 3.2 million LGNDW, who would be buying LGND to cover?
