Z, it was a suggestion. People's racial prejudices tend to evaporate when it comes to dog owners. (Unless the dog is a pit bull or some other aggressive breed.)

Not that you should HAVE to get a dog to make people look at you less suspiciously, but it's a clever, pragmatic way to bridge the gap between races and cultures.

And that works a lot better than trying to control thoughts and feelings via "political correctness."
