Global warming is a natural occurrence. To what extent man contributes to this, is unsettled.

That's what the debate needs to be about--the extent if any--and for that the volume needs to be turned down.

I don't think you will find many reputable climate scientist that disagrees with that. But what is "settled science" at this point is that increased C02 levels will increase warming, and while human activity is by no means the only source of atmospheric CO2, increased CO2 emissions by humans will over time act to increase atmospheric CO2.

Even when something is indeed "settled science" you will find always some fringe scientists that dispute it. Very occasionally they prove correct, but far more often they are just remain fringe cranks. A good example is whether the HIV virus in fact causes AIDS - for many years there have been established scientists that have disputed that, including Cary Mullis, a Nobel-winning biochemist. (After winning the Nobel he blew his mind on drugs which might go some way to explaining his beliefs). In South Africa, the then President Mbeki seized on these HIV-deniers to justify not giving anti-retroviral drugs to people infected with HIV. Probably killed about a million people.
