"superior" moralizers on SI."

That is wrong. The dichotomy I speak to is superstition versus Reason. Superiority is a different concept.

Morality is another matter. I certainly consider myself more moral than most people, as my values all flow from Reason and from thoughtfulness and extensive study of the humanities. And the morality of most people is colored by a perceived supernatural guidance.

Every day we must endure news of the atrocities and warfare between the two largest ideological factions-the Judeo/Christians and the Muslims. Am I superior to these people? Perhaps...perhaps to some of them in some arenas. Am I more moral than these people? Most assuredly so. I make no claims of extraterrestrial guidance and earthly privilege to justify my rights and my behaviour. I recognise no extraterrestrial laws and I operate within the laws of my community and my country. People with supernatural justification are guided by invisible beings and arbitrary rules. They have as many moralities as there are sects or indeed individuals within sects. In other words...the only restraint on their behaviour is their imagination. Consider the Muslims. Consider the Koran. Do you think (for example) their treatment of women is moral?
