Wonder if they may provide a deal for U.S. owners of VOD shares to receive VZ stock rather than cash. They should have shareholder's names and locations and w/ a deal so large that type of tax free transaction may be on the table. I do know that VOD was concerned about their tax liability (as much as 8Bln) for such a sale. Peeling back the list of VOD shareholders that reside in U.S. and making a tax free exchange into VZ shares may/could be one possibility.

I can always sell but that results in a 100% tax event. Waiting could/may result in some type of tax deferred option.

Thank's for the clarification as I knew the original deal was a JV w/ VOD. In fact, some of my original VZ shares were from VOD many years ago as a special dividend.

We will have to see how it is all structured. $130Bln is a lot of money.

Almost as complicated when AT&T divested and then put back together after their cable deal failed.
