good god man, i specifically asked you to "BE SPECIFIC" where the U.S. is on some horrible path of "socialism" and so you do the exact opposite... you give me a pasted wikipedia definition of socialism and then a long monotonous rant and word salad about other countries.... with all your ranting you simply failed miserably to answer a specific question wanna try again? what is this "socialism" and "nanny state" that you speak of? the further towards Socialism we go, the more freedoms are lost. how is the U.S. becoming more socialist?? be specific also, no one here is against capitalism... we just don't want "unfettered capitalism"... any healthy society should include many aspects of socialism... just like the problem with our healthcare system is not socialism, it's too much capitalism, it needs MORE socialism such as single payer... you seem to have swallowed the "socialism is an evil word" pill.... believe it or not it's actually possible to be a fiscal conservative at the same time as being a social liberal... but i don't see that with libertarians... they pretty much seem to be social conservative
