CaT babe:

---->IF I am getting good reads on the PREM..can I just add the prem to the current SPX quote to get the SPZ quote..since I don't have RT futures quotes....or could I be so lucky?!?!?!

I don't think so, but I haven't checked it out.

Anyone else have an answer ?

The prem on the futures flucuates at a differing rate moment by moment from the options.......or so it seems to me without having fresh chicken entrails to look at......ggg
I had at one time started to obtain a "feeling" that the pit traders might be using something similar to this to change the spread.
Then I discovered that the feeling was in my head and not in my hand.....
gggg

That's what I do, Lisa, I think it's valid. The only issue is that the PREM varies so dramaticaly minute to minute and less, that you need a record of where it's been recently to establish the extreme values for SPZ if you want to know if key support, pivot point etc., has been breached. You could look at your quote and see a PREM of .75 and think you have SPZ pegged when 40 seconds previously it might have been at 2.1, which gives you a dramatically different value for SPZ.
