I understand that special ed parents may need help with the huge costs related to their offspring. But it would make the system more transparent if the cost for this care wasn't funneled through the school districts as "education"- I would like the opponents of education spending to be able to focus more clearly on what, exactly, is causing educational spending to balloon so quickly- and I'd like them to have to come out against special ed spending, rather than educational spending in general. It would be interesting to watch the right wing come out against crippled children and the retarded.
