There has been a bit of that even in technology. In the last 5-10 years the value of what is called "design" over the underlying technology details has become more widely acknowledged. This is why a guy like Jony Ive is a SVP at Apple. There are lots of similar stories in other big tech names (Google, and many of the web cos.) It used to be that such top slots on the product side went to people with strong STEM backgrounds, not those who came from the art/humanities side. Times change...
