He could not cross the libs on this one. He would be too exposed to the right wing that wants his head. The would have accused him of going to war without congressional approval just like you did. We saw the trap. His national security team did not! They wanted to go. Kerry was way out ahead and Obama took a walk with a real liberal guy who told him he had to go to congress. He was too vulnerable. He needs we libs, especially if he was going it alone. But we insisted he take it to congress. We know you pubs are really split on this one, so we can turn a deficit (red line comment) into a plus i.e. the pubs are going to fight to the death on this one in the house and we get to watch.
