>> If McDonalds paid 15/hr most of the current employees would be let go. Better quality ones hired.

This is already happening as a result of the protracted unemployment disaster in the US. The average age of a McDs worker has gone up because incompetent liberal policies have resulted in more mature employees being available for less money.

If you have a choice of an unskilled 17 year old or a somewhat experienced 24 year old for the same money it is a no-brainer.

If you raise the cost of employees, you're going to squeeze younger, less experienced even more, and some of those people who now have jobs won't have.

I'm not sure why some people cannot grasp this simplest of economic concepts.

Good point. If McDonalds paid 15/hr most of the current employees would be let go. Better quality ones hired. Applications would soar.

Sounds like a good deal for McDonald's. So why wouldn't they do it?

>Of course this is about the Unions too. Union bosses would love a chunk of that $15/hr. Leaving the workers with the leftovers.

The average union dues in this country are 1-2%. I think The workers would be just dandy with that.
